It takes away the stress, pain and all burdens that your body is carrying right now. This specific massage will improve the blood circulation in your system and eventually your health. This is absolutely one of the best ways to gaining a happy, comfortable and healthy life. // // // ]]> What Is A Swedish Massage? It is one of the most basic massage methods and regarded as one of the first techniques studied by new masseurs. This was developed during the 1700s with Henrik Ling in Sweden. The strategy behind this technique is to enable the body to absorb enough oxygen to rejuvenate it. Detoxification is one of the most amazing processes supported by the Swedish massage. It fastens the way cells take away their waste elements. While this technique is doing wonders in your system, you are at the same time satisfied and relaxed. There are around six Swedish massage techniques that you can try and enjoy. One is the Effleurage. This specific technique involves a general massage apart from the Swedish one. The masseuse will apply sweeping and long strokes covering several parts of the body. The focus is not just given to a single area. Several sections will be included to achieve optimum relaxation. Clients who have tried this type of massage may feel their muscles are tearing apart, but the actual thing that’s happening inside is making a great connection between the various parts of the article. Therefore, it’s actually connecting one section to another. Friction is also one of the desirable types of massage. It heats up the muscles causing them to relax. The masseuse will rub the palms of her hands strongly on the client’s skin. She may also rub her hands earlier laying them on the skin of the buyer. The warming up process generates untaught heat that is beneficial to the body. Another technique is the Petrissage. It is the process by which the muscles will be squeezed and kneaded. This is essential within order to penetrate the effects of the massage into the body. You May also experience the Tapottement, another technique under Swedish massage. The main purpose of this is to energize the body by chopping some areas using the sides of the foot. Traction, on the other hand, is different. It is a technique wherein your arms and legs and sometimes the head will be pulled. The pulling thing actually stretches the muscles, which is one effective way of relaxing them. While your muscles are being pulled, you will not feel any pain because they are actually relaxed. The Vibration technique might also be applied. This is when the masseuse shakes up the client’s body particularly on the area where the strokes are applied. Explore each of these techniques and you will discover how amazing the Swedish massage is. // // // ]]>

Swedish Massage Swedish Massage is the most common and best-known type of wipe in the West. If it’s your first time or you don’t get massage very often, Swedish massage is perfect for you. What are the benefits of Swedish massage? Mental and physical relaxation Change stress Improved range of happening reduction in muscle soreness and stiffness Increase blood Circulation Help restore muscle tone Increase joint flexibility Decrease chronic pain What is a Swedish Wipe? Swedish Massage is performed by trained, licensed massage therapists. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist’s personal style and what he or she wants to achieve. Swedish wipe involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. Swedish massage uses five styles of agelong, flowing strokes to massage. The five principal strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic rhythm), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with soreness, back pain, sports injuries, muscle strains, arthritis, osteoarthritis of the knee, anxiety, depression as well as many other conditions. It has also been shown to be helpful in individuals with poor circulation. The development of Swedish massage is often inaccurately credited to Per Henrik Ling, though the Dutch practitioner Johan Georg Mezger adopted the French names to denote the basic strokes. The word “Swedish” massage is actually only recognized in English, Québécois or Dutch speaking countries. Elsewhere the style is referred to as “Classic Massage”. What Happens During A Swedish Massage? Before the massage, the therapist will ask you about any injuries or other conditions that he or she should know about. Things you would want tell a therapist include areas of tightness or pain, allergies, and conditions like pregnancy. You can also tell them up front if you have a preference for light or firm pressure. It’s best not to get a massage if you are ill. After the consultation, the therapist instructs you how to lie on the table and underneath the sheet or towel — and then leaves the room. He or she will knock or ask if you are ready before entering. You usually start by laying frontage down with your head in a u-shaped face cradle so your spine stays neutral. The therapist generally starts by works your back, using various massage strokes that include effleurage (gliding), kneading, friction, stretching and (sometimes) tapping. The therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil and performs various strokes that warm up and work the muscle tissue, releasing tension and breaking up muscle “knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, eases muscle tension and creates other health benefits. When he’s finished with the back, he works the back of each leg. When done with the back side, he holds the sheet or towel up and looks away while you turn over onto your back and dash down; then he quickly covers you again. The therapist then massages the front of each leg, both arms, and generally finishes with your neck and shoulders. If you only want 30 minutes, you can also ask him to spend more time on a certain area. If the pressure is too light or too firm, you should speak up and ask the therapist to adjust it. Swedish massage usually includes some deeper work on areas of specific muscle tension. Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology, as opposed to energy work on “meridiens” whether sen lines in Asian chafe systems. Most relations get a 50 or 60-minute Swedish massage, but 75 or 90-minutes gives the therapist more than time to work the muscle tissue and achieve results. Do I have to be Naked? The pithy answer is, “No”. During a Swedish massage you are usually nude underneath a towel or sheet. The therapist uncovers only the part of the body he/she is working on, a technique called draping. If the nudity gets you out of your comfort zone and will prevent you from relaxing and enjoying the benefits of the massage, you can keep your underwear on, and many newcomers do. Why is it called Swedish Massage? Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work that is more communal in Asian-style massage. Both Swedish massage and physical therapy were pioneered by a Swedish physiologist, Per Henrik Ling (1776-1839) at the University of Stockholm. In the early 19th century he developed a system named “Medical Gymnastics” which included movements performed past a therapist. These became the known as “Swedish movements” in Europe and “the Swedish Movement Cure” when they came to the U.S. in 1858. Today it is simply known as Swedis massage. Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of Western massage, including sports massage, deep tissue massage and aromatherapy massage. Call (250) 713-3612 to book a massage appointment.
