Au Salvador dans les années 80, il ne faisait pas bon être enfant. En pleine guerre civile, le gouvernement n?hésitait pas à enrôler des soldats de 12 ans. VOCES INOCENTES raconte cette période tragique à travers le regard d?un enfant de 11 ans.
Le Mexicain, Luis Mandoki réalise ici son meilleur film. Cette réussite est sans doute d?ailleurs plus à mettre au compte de son jeune acteur principal, l?étonnant Carlos Padilla et de la douloureuse universalité du sujet abordé.
La tragédie de ces enfants enrôlés de force dans l?armée gouvernemental n?aurait été que plus grande si le cinéaste n?avait pas si clairement choisi son camp, opposant de manière plutôt caricaturale les bons aux méchants.
Même si les dialogues ne font pas toujours dans la finesse, VOCES INOCENTES reste cependant un film déchirant. (Edmond de Saint-Pierre)
The movie is based on a true story, sometimes movies are made like this one, and is it part of our own life....many of us (Salvadorean kids) had to experience this. Under age Salvadorean kids are forced to join the army; so they have to hide from the soldiers, in this case a kid have to be the man of the house after his father leaves the family and moves to the USA to help his family, he is told that the army is trained by the US forces and his uncle is a 'guerrillero' the movie is about his survival in a small town where the daily attacks by the army takes place. Even if the dialogues do not still make in the finesse, VOCES INOCENTES remains however a heart-rending film.
